The students held a special event on Thursday 21 March to mark a daily iftar (the meal at the end of a day's fasting), co-organised by Dundee University Islamic Society (DUIS), Dundee University Students’ Association (DUSA), Dundee University Malaysian Society (DUMAS), and Abertay Islamic Society (AIS).

The event included recitations from the Qur'an and reflections from Qari Essa Alenizy, the former imam of the Grand Mosque of Kuwait, as well as a delicious meal.

Mubarak Babalola, Deputy President of DUSA, said, “It has been an amazing response to this event from our students, and we are overwhelmed with the amount of money which has been donated.

‘This has truly elevated what was already a special event for many, making it even more extraordinary. A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone who came along and generously donated.’’
