Waves, creating transparency for your connected devices to enhance data security and privacy.

About

With the explosive growth of the Internet of Things (IoT), ubiquitous sensors are creeping in to collect personal information, turning it into the 21st century’s most valuable asset. Tech companies are using big data for business growth, while consumers are revelling the convenience of the IoT along with the risk of data security and privacy breaches.

Google’s senior vice-president for devices and services, Rick Osterloh, stated in an interview that he would disclose the presence of smart home devices to guests.

Waves aims to create transparency for connected devices to enhance data security and privacy. This project envisions a future product that monitors the operating status of sensors in IoT devices and informs users about the content of the data collected by those sensors. Furthermore, a circular container filled with water can create waves by spinning. The more sensors that are activating, the faster the container spins and the bigger the waves it creates, serving as a weathervane for data security and safeguarding our digital life.
