Green Careers Event

Hosted by the University of Dundee's Careers Service, this event was more than just a gathering of students and employers; it was a testament to the growing interest in sustainable careers and the University of Dundee’s commitment to empowering its students with knowledge about the future of green professions. 

The event featured insights from nine local employers.  

• Reach Subsea, with their vision of 'sustainable access to ocean space', showed us the depth of their commitment to environmental stewardship. 
• Apollo Engineering, actively driving the transition to clean and sustainable energy sources, exemplified the balance between energy security, affordability and sustainability. 
• Here’s The Plan, represented by Christian Williams, reminded us that sustainability is not just a buzzword but a tangible plan that's affordable, realistic and achievable. 
• Enterprise Holdings, a multi-generational family-owned business, demonstrated their forward-looking approach to integrate sustainability across global operations. 
• RSPB's Hope Busak's dedication to reconnection with nature left us inspired to become stewards of our environment. 
• Little Green Larder, founded by Jillian Crabb, showcased how easy and affordable zero-waste shopping can be, inspiring sustainable choices. 
• Hospitalfield, where art meets sustainability, reminded us that even in the world of contemporary art, sustainability can be a guiding principle. 

These presentations did more than just inform; they ignited a collective passion for green careers and sustainability. They showed students that the path to a more sustainable future is not a distant dream, but a tangible reality and they left the event not just inspired but equipped with actionable knowledge and insights. 

The University of Dundee's Green Careers Event was a powerful response to the growing interest in sustainability and the desire to develop a better understanding of the opportunities that lie ahead. It was a reminder that green careers are not just about environmentalism but a holistic approach to the future, intertwining passion, purpose and profitability.
