Making an anonymous complaint or raising a concern anonymously

We understand that occasionally you may wish to report an incident or concern you have experienced or witnessed to the University under its procedures but would like for your details to remain anonymous. Please contact us about options available.

It is perfectly okay if you want to remain anonymous when making a report to the University. However, you need to know that it is not always possible for us to investigate your complaint or concerns further if we do not have your name and contact details. This is because it is likely we will need to speak to you to obtain evidence which is essential to facilitate a full and proper investigation of the alleged breach of its processes and procedures.

The University will keep your identity confidential if you wish for this, but this may delay or prevent any formal action. Generally anonymous reports of incidents (such as breaches of the Covid Code) will not result in formal action unless you can provide compelling evidence which speaks for itself.



The University would like to assure you that we take all concerns raised with the University seriously and we will log anonymous reporting of incidents and take appropriate steps in order to ensure public safety so far as it is able under its processes and procedures.



For reasons of confidentiality and in compliance with data protection legislation, the University does not share the outcomes of any formal investigation with you as these are not made public.
