Linocuts are a form of block printing, where designs are carved into a piece of linoleum then printed onto paper using ink. To accompany our exhibition Colour-Less (featuring some striking examples of linocut prints), join student curator Molly Reid for this two-hour workshop introducing you to the process. We’ll look at examples of linocut prints from our collections then you can have a go at making your own, either creating your own designs or using templates provided, inspired by the artworks on display.

No experience needed. All the necessary tools, lino, ink and paper will be supplied. The workshop is aimed at adults but interested teenagers are also welcome. Please note that linocutting tools can be sharp and incorrect use may result in injury. We will have a first aid kit on hand!
