I'm character designer, storyboarder and (soon-to-be, as of writing) graduate from Animation at DJCAD. My art draws inspiration from underground Comix, vintage fashion & 20th century animation - my work is said to always have a consistently 'retro' aesthetic. My biggest artistic influences are Robert Crumb, Sylvain Chomet & Ralph Bakshi. I have a passion for character-driven story, dark comedy & kitschy visuals, all of which are common motifs within my portfolio.
My main project this year was Phantasmagoria, for which I was a character designer, storyboarder, production manager & colourist. After designing the Ringmaster during the early production, I assisted with the creation of the storyboard and its revision after a story change. I also assisted with tasks such as creating schedules and maintaining shot lists which kept production running smoothly. During later stages of production, I coloured several shots so that they could be composited into the final film.
My secondary project was 'American Entertainment', a passion project satirising 1950s celebrity culture which I have been writing for several years. For this project, I created character designs and model sheets for the two main protagonists of the story, and also produced a storyboard for a pilot episode in which the characters would first be introduced.
More of my art can be seen on my website and Instagram page, which I try to keep updated regularly with whatever I've been working on!
