About

For my degree submission, I worked on ‘duolinGO’ which is my response to a competition brief for encouraging primary students and their parents to download and stay motivated with Duolingo math. To encourage daily maths lessons and give parents more control over their child’s learning habits, Duolingo has partnered with Pokémon Go. This collaboration has created an immersive, interactive, and gamified learning experience through Augmented Reality. DuolinGO attempts to reduce the fear and anxiety often associated with maths by creating an active and other-worldly learning experience that encourages engagement with the environment to hunt and find the answers to maths questions.

Oblivion is an alcoholic rum inspired by the bewildering phenomenon of the Bermuda Triangle, designed for submitting to Hatch. Oblivion emulates the dark mystery of this location to create a captivating and immersive drinking experience. Oblivion is built around a cryptic brand story designed to parallel intrigue, suspense, and mystery, which the location itself conveys.

An additional element to Oblivion rum is the mystery mixers. These bottles are randomly sold mixer flavours given in a bottle with a disconnected cup of rum, all packaged together. The idea is to swap and share the mixers with friends, therefore, encouraging social interaction and conversation, and contributing to an exciting and enjoyable drinking experience.

D&AD New Blood 2022/2023 Submission- duolinGO

This is a collection of four images combined to show the process of how duolinGo will work. On the top left side of the page, there is a large title displayed in the centre. Below this is two characters- one is Duo the owl and the other is Pikachu, this introduces the collaboration. To the right of this, there is a split page. On one side of the page is an illustrated hand holding a phone with duolock at the top and a list of applications underneath. The other half of this page is a smaller illustration of

This shows the idea behind duolinGO and explains the process in stages. The parent can choose to monitor and restrict access to certain applications on their child’s phone until a lesson has been completed. This gives the parent more control over their child’s learning habits and the child an incentive to complete their lessons. The more lessons completed successfully; the more time will be earned and collected. After the child has received enough time, they can choose to complete a lesson in duolinGO. As the child completes levels, character cards will be rewarded digitally, and the characters collected will be unlocked and explored as an interactive character in the duolinGO augmented reality experience.

The bottle and bottle case have labels on them. The label shows a boat positioned on the horizon line with two skeleton hands underneath and a triangle connecting the hands, boat, and information. Oblivion is the title and is placed in the centre of the design, in the middle of the triangle. On the top right and bottom left corner
This image has three bottles situated on the left side of the page, a larger bottle in the centre and two smaller bottles on the right. All bottles, except the ones on the right have a label on them with a boat positioned on the horizon line, two skeleton hands underneath and a triangle outline connecting the design, with the title ‘Oblivion’ displayed in the centre. The two bottles on the right are shown from the back. These show the description of the brand story and a pulled-out card from behind the labe
