Stephanie Wilson

Animation BDes (Hons)

I am a 3D Modeller and Texture Artist, with an interest in 3D Environment Art.

About

Throughout my studies at DJCAD, I have been given the opportunity to build a variety of creative skill sets through various animated projects. During this timeframe, I chose to specialise in 3D Modelling/Texturing, alongside gaining an interest in Environment Art. During my final year, I had the opportunity to work on two of the student films, where I worked as a 3D Modeller and Texture Artist, carrying out various generalist tasks. I also had the opportunity to work on a personal project in my final year. My personal project included modelling and texturing a smaller compact version of the city of Venice, allowing me to apply my learning to a larger-scale environment. This also gave me experience with the creation of a full-scale environment from beginning to end.

Throughout my studies, I have also developed strong collaboration and communication skills, working effectively with other students to create animated shorts and films. My time here also gave me the opportunity to learn industry-standard software, such as Maya, Substance Painter, ZBrush and Adobe Suite.

Overall, my degree show work represents my focus on 3D modelling and my passion for environment art. I hope to seek new challenges and opportunities which will continue to build upon the skills and knowledge I have gained at DJCAD. I am eager to continue developing these skills as I move forward in my career.

Dingle Stings 2022 - The Wish

In my third year, I had the opportunity to work on a short film for the Dingle Animation Festival 2022. The film is based on the 10th anniversary of the Dingle Stings Animation Festival. I was solely responsible for the 3D section of this short film. Here, I undertook various tasks including modelling, rigging, texturing, lighting, animation and rendering.
