The Department of Futures is a narrative driven, speculative, imagination-based design game.
Using a mix of narrative and card-based gameplay, the game challenges players to imagine sometimes amazing, sometimes terrifying visions of the future and what our place might be in them.
Centred around the titular ‘Department of Futures,’ players take on the role of ‘Time Agents.’ These agents are courageous time travellers willing to put their lives on the line in the name of progress and securing humanity’s continued survival & prosperity in the face of an increasingly uncertain future for mankind.
