A one off bookshelf that aims to emphasise unread books.
Combating Tsundoku; the phenomenon of collecting books and letting them pile up going unread.

As a reader myself this project helps to fix a problem most readers have, the fear of forgetting which books you have read and which you have not.

The bookshelf Tsundoku combats this problem using RFID cards inside bookmarks that connects to a sensor at the back of the shelves. This in turn means that when the user scans their bookmark it lights up a small section of the shelf that indicates that the book is unread when on the shelf. The light will catch the readers eye bringing to their attention this unread book. Then once read, the bookmark is scanned a second time flashing and turning off the light then congratulating the reader on finishing their book.
