Redesigning the way unidentified persons cases are portrayed to the public.

About

This project is an exploration into how unidentified persons cases are displayed on public platforms. In a response to a meeting with Locate international the current issue of how such platforms can be improved was highlighted. 3 main aims were developed; To avoid distress, to enhance memory recall and to convey information efficiently and effectively.

Researching into the benefits of increased visual information portrayal over textual information and its effects on memory recall. Unidentified cases inherently produce sensitive images therefore the effects of viewing these on members of the public were addressed and alternative ways to display these images were explored.

The Projects visual outcome resulted in a system of recreating the personal items and unique identifying features of an unidentified person as digital 3D assets which were then placed into a mock up web platform in which they would be rotating allowing all angles to be viewed, along with accompanying posters.

Compilation of all 3D models made.

3 posters showing all relevant details for each case.
9 screenshots of the proposed platform web pages.
