With society becoming increasingly reliant on digital products for everyday tasks, it is essential that these products are designed with accessibility in mind.

As computer scientists and UX designers, understanding accessibility is crucial for creating products that are inclusive and usable by everyone. You will learn about different types of disabilities and how they affect user experience, as well as techniques for designing and testing accessible products.

This knowledge will not only help you to create solutions that meet legal requirements, but also create products that are more user-friendly and have a wider reach.

What you will learn

In this module, you will:

  • explore various models of accessibility
  • study influential research papers in accessibility
  • learn how accessibility is considered in the design and development of computing technology

  • conduct accessibility evaluations of user experiences and products to an industry standard
  • critically appraise the impact of contemporary experiences on technology
