DJ32016

This module introduces you to a range of narrative strategies used across built environment disciplines in response to design briefs, reflecting a range of spatial design outcomes.

The main project delivered within this module will provide you with an opportunity to shape your own design brief in response to an area of spatial design that you are personally passionate about.

This project will allow you continue to build on your existing dynamic interior design skills, while also challenging you to explore new approaches.

What you will learn

In this module, you will:

  • explore co-design design techniques to engage people in your design process
  • develop spatial narratives through responding to set design briefs and/or creating your own
  • consider issues of heritage, conservation, and preservation, alongside new urban interventions and spatial practices
  • evolve your spatial ambitions through research, design development, and presentation techniques (analogue and digital)

By the end of this module, you will be able to:

  • show an understanding of narrative strategies through a range of spatial design outcomes
  • apply appropriate 2D and 3D digital and analogue skills, processes, and techniques to explain a spatial project
  • demonstrate creative and critical analysis, evaluation, and synthesis from concept to completion
  • contribute to new or established networks to enhance learning and employability
