Biography
After more than ten years in practice as a qualified solicitor, Duncan joined the School of Law in December 2021 having tutored here and at another university part-time since 2020.
Research
While Duncan has interests in many areas of Scots Private Law, he is most interested in the way that legal systems deal with death: its contemplation, its happening and its consequences and he has co-authored a book on the subject with Professor Frankie McCarthy, a Scottish Law Commissioner, which is due to be published in early 2025.
Duncan is also interested in transport law and policy.
Teaching
Undergraduate: Scottish Family Law, Scottish Property Law, Private Law of Scotland II, Roman Law, and Aspects of Transport Law.
Postgraduate: Private Client and Advanced Private Client on the Diploma in Professional Legal Practice.
