Biography

Qudsia Kalsoom is a Lecturer in Education (Teaching and Research) and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). Qudsia primarily teaches on MEd programme and contributes some hours on MA ‘Learning for Sustainability’. She is module lead for MEd ‘Leadership and Organisational Development’. Since September 2023, Qudsia is also a part of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Network of the School of Humanities, Social Sciences and Law, UoD.
Before joining the UoD in 2022, Qudsia worked in Pakistan for 20 years. 

Beginning her career as a school teacher in 1998, she started working as a teacher educator in 2004. In her role as a teacher educator, she developed and taught many courses related to education and leadership. She also worked on large-scale (including multi-stakeholders) teachers’ capacity building, funded projects.

Qudsia’s primary research interest is education for a sustainable future. She is also interested in studying gender equality, equitable climate action, and curriculum enactment. Qudsia’s transdisciplinary research covers multiple sustainable development goals (SDGs) including quality education (SDG4); gender equality (SDG5); reduced inequalities (SDG10); responsible production and consumption; (SDG12); and climate action (SDG13).
