The School of Business has achieved excellent levels of student satisfaction across two programmes, ranking 1st for Finance and 3rd for Accountancy in Scotland.

In June, we celebrated the achievements of our Business students at our summer graduation, including those of Isaac Jarman. Isaac graduated from the University’s School of Business with a BAcc (Hons) in Accounting, however, he has already made his mark in the working world alongside his friends and fellow Business students, Samuel Cole and Matthew Gibson-Smith, as co-founders of the newly established business JukeBox Live.

The business aims to revolutionize the way we listen to music in pubs and clubs by allowing customers to request a song using the JukeBox app on their phone. The venue then has the choice to either accept the song or decline it.

The students were awarded funding to develop the app by winning the Business Award category in this year’s annual Venture Competition, run by the University’s Centre for Entrepreneurship.

Dr Renzo Cordina, Deputy Associate Dean L&T  said "These results highlight the quality of our undergraduate offerings in Accounting and Finance, and reflect the quality of our courses, and the support provided by the Accounting and Finance teaching team at the University of Dundee."

Following the news that Dundee has been shortlisted as Entrepreneurial University of the Year in the Triple E Awards, a global recognition of efforts towards the quest for entrepreneurship and engagement in higher education, student stories like Issac’s further demonstrates the School of Business’s commitment to championing innovation and enterprise.
