Kirkton Community Family Fun Day

Over 50 staff and students from across the University headed out to Kirkton Community Centre on Saturday 20 April 2024, to take part in the local community Family Fun Day, whilst also supporting the local management group to engage and consult with local people about the future of the community centre.

Organiser Shabnam Wasim, Community Engagement Officer in Research and Innovation Services said “Supporting our local communities is embedded in the heart of the University. Events like these also support our staff and students to engage with local families, talk about their research to local people, and raise awareness of the work that takes place at the University.” 

Over 200 people came along with their families to enjoy the wide range of fun hands-on activities available, with one family commenting “It’s great to see these events happening in our community, and to see just how much the University does.”
