Attending summer school at the Vietnam National University of Economics & Business in Hanoi, in collaboration with the University of Dundee, has been an incredible experience.

As a Business Management student representing the University of Dundee, I gained deep insights into Vietnam’s vibrant culture, rich history, dynamic politics, business practices, and growing economy.

The trip was a cultural and historical immersion into Vietnam. My highlights included the warmth and friendliness of the people, learning about the country's fascinating history and traditions, making new friends, and indulging in delicious local food—especially the Vietnamese coffee and Bánh Mì!

Fortunately, We had a wonderful group of student ambassadors from the Vietnam National University who became friends. They took us out for dinners every night, teaching us about Vietnamese traditions and showing us how to eat like the locals.

Our week was filled with various tourist excursions. We went on bus tours, visited temples and museums, learned to make Vietnamese desserts at an eco-farm, and spent a day on a luxury yacht exploring the stunning Ha Long Bay and Lan Ha Bay. We even cycled around Kong Skull Island, the iconic filming location for "Kong: Skull Island."

Though the summer school in Hanoi lasted only seven days, two other Dundee students and I took this opportunity to explore more of Vietnam afterward. This experience has been immensely academically and personally beneficial, offering me a rich, immersive understanding of Vietnam.

As I near the end of my third year and prepare for graduation next year, this trip has significantly boosted my confidence in facing the future and life after university. I am incredibly grateful to the University of Dundee for providing this opportunity. Exploring the world in a structured and safe way through the university has sparked my interest in travel. I’m proud to be part of an institution that encourages students to broaden their horizons and embark on such enriching experiences.
