We are recruiting for a PG Learner Experience Designer within our Postgraduate Learner Experience Design Team, to develop and continuously improve the end-to-end learning experiences for online/blended learners in Postgraduate Medicine, using a design-led approach. This is a fixed-term appointment for 2 years.

Based in Ninewells Hospital, one of Europe's largest teaching hospitals, the School of Medicine provides outstanding medical education and training supported by world class research facilities.

Your priorities will include:

  • Lead the continuous improvement of the learner experience within programmes/modules and the learning platform.
    • Research learners' experiences and identify any challenges
    • Collaborate with the LXD team and stakeholders to prioritise the backlog of items.
    • Design and test solutions using iterative processes in collaboration with stakeholders and the LXD team before implementing final designs.
  • Lead the design and development of online/blended programmes and modules.
    • Work with subject-matter experts to identify learning objectives and ensure that learning materials, activities and assessments are optimally designed for online learning.
    • Use a range of authoring tools to create materials that incorporate a variety of media which are accessible across a range of devices.
    • Copyedit text to improve its readability for all learners
    • Ensure that all materials adhere to copyright policies and accessibility standards.
  • Lead the design and development of the learning platform (Moodle).
    • Ensuring that courses and user accounts are maintained.
    • Maintain in-house created educational support material for students and staff.
    • Provide guidance, induction, and first-line support to students and staff using the learning platform.
  • Conduct quality assurance on work completed by colleagues in the LXD team.
  • Advise and share best practices and experiences of online/blended learning, user experience, design techniques, and any other areas with the team and wider organisation.
  • Continuously learn and develop own knowledge of the above areas.

  • Experience in designing and developing online modules and learning content
  • Experience in designing and developing learning platforms.
  • Ability to problem solve using creative techniques.
  • Ability to be an authentic team player.
  • Ability to collaborate by sharing/receiving ideas and feedback.
  • Ability to work in an agile work environment, change priorities when required to meet challenges and deadlines effectively.

This role does not meet the minimum requirements set by the UKVI to enable sponsorship of migrant workers.
