The Institute of Sport and Exercise (SpAH) provides the dynamic lead for the University's sporting and physical activity offer to staff and students by creating and delivering a positive culture and vision. The University mission - to transform lives - is at the very core of the Institute's work as we use sport, exercise and physical activity to improve the health and wellbeing of the University community.

We are currently recruiting for an exceptional individual to join us as a Receptionist and assist us in delivering a high standard of front-line customer service to all users of our facilities. This post is a full-time, permanent, appointment, working a 2-week rotating shift pattern.

If you have proven experience in a commercial reception setting (particularly if this in a higher education or sport and exercise sector), are committed to delivering a high professional standard of customer care, and would like to work in a dynamic environment with a diverse client base, then we'd like to hear from you.

Your priorities will focus on providing all day-to-day reception duties including;

  • Efficient and courteous management of in-person and telephone enquiries
  • Proactively providing customers with information to assist in their use of the facilities
  • Processing customer bookings using the ISE Information Management System
  • Managing front-line customer complaints in a positive and reassuring manner
  • Assisting, as appropriate, in the wider Institute administration activities

Who we're looking for… you will have;

  • Previous experience of reception duties within a commercial, preferably higher education or sport/exercise, sector
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated computer literacy
  • Exceptional all-round customer care skills
  • High professional standards
