Africa Initiative - population health and wealth

Showcasing our work on the research theme of population health and wealth as part of the Africa Initiative.

This theme brings together our research strengths in life sciences, drug discovery, medicine, oral health, and design for healthcare.

We have much to build on – our Drug Discovery Unit has launched a malaria drug discovery project in Ghana, we have a strong track record of training African scientists in Dundee, and co-developed the first ever Undergraduate Dentistry programme in Malawi.

The Africa Initiative will support strategic development of these areas of strength, anchored in the ambitions of the UNGC Global Strategy 2021-2023 - and supporting delivery of the United Nation’s SDGs through interdisciplinary collaboration and accelerated development of ecosystems that enable change.

Launching a Drug Discovery Hub in Ghana

Having worked together for a number of years, a group of institutions decided to develop a drug discovery hub.
