Aidan Robertson
Finding the organic in the mechanical. Signals flowing through through wires and mushrooms alike.

Digital breathing.
Underground networks of plant-life.
Wires like roots growing from the ground.
In seeing humanity, nature and technology as one
interconnected system, the artist Aidan Robertson
explores the subtle, emotive, and organic interactions
that form on the edges of our technologically led lives.
Themes of solitude, and the 'outsider' are explored,
questioning what happens to the deeply ingrained,
primitive self once subjected to the big-city.
He considers crossovers in forms of communication,
both technological and biological as a catalyst for
works. The artist observes our futile attempts at total
control over nature, and explores our chaotic, sensory,
organically-digital existence; and our search for
balance.
These ideas are investigated through sculpture, as well
as mixed media works of drawing and painting.
Mediator

A mechanical, kinetic sculpture representing humanity as a mediator between its impact upon, and its embrace of the natural.
