Ariyel Feasey
I create backgrounds and environmental assets for film and videogames that aid story and character using 3D CGI tools.
About
I have worked on the room of the main character for the student film Origami, bringing to life precursory elements of her creativity and imagination that are explored later in the film through the props in her room. In the texturing process I aimed to create a muted colour palette that would contrast with the much brighter and optimistic tone of scenes later in the film. I also aimed to illustrate the wear and tear of the room through the 3D modelling and texturing. In the creation of the film I also used more 3D generalist skills for character animation in two shots as well as visual effects across the second section of the film.
I have worked on a couple of other environments inspired by settings I have encountered. The first is inspired by a tower house ruin found near Glasgow, which gave me an opportunity to create tiling textures, trim textures and decals, all methods common to the video game creation process. I also created foliage to add to the atmosphere and storytelling of the piece.
I have created videogame asset props for a kitchen environment inspired by my kitchen at home, as an homage to my time spent in kitchens on staff as well as the fusing of British and Indian recipes often present at home.
