About

Austeja Matijosiute

Hi there, thank you for visiting my page!

My goal during the 4th year was to expand my skillset within my specialisms. I had the honour to work on 3 student films (Baobhan Sith, Origami, TV Dinner) as a Compositor, 2D Layout and Background Artist, and Production Manager. This was a great mix to feed both my passion for creativity and logical problem-solving.

By working on TV Dinner, I improved my comedic timing and experimented with various genres. Baobhan Sith taught me how to, by using imagery without perspective and traditionally drawn stills, make an impactful and enchanting film. Through Origami, I could try compositing a 3D film and I deepened my understanding of production management.

While I am super interested in experimentation between genres, my passion lies in showcasing how beautiful our world is. Even if people are re-living casual everyday moments, I invite people to notice the beauty of those moments. This has inspired personal projects which I had an opportunity to do during my 4th year.

Through my 2D Layout & Background Art project, I challenged myself to deal with complex line art, a charming digital watercolour look, and various lighting situations. As for my Compositing project, I composited real-life footage. I am taking you, the viewer, home to a lovely Lithuanian town with hopes of evoking nostalgic and joyful feelings.

Thank you!
