About

Profile photo of Eva Manninen

On my final year at university, I have spent my time researching and improving my 3D skills especially towards game development. I aim to create 3D models with clean typology and textures suitable for real-time rendering. I admire efficiency and I have built my 3D environments with modular methods and reusable textures. I am especially interested in foliage creation, and I have spent a large portion of my fourth year researching how to create plants with SpeedTree using opacity maps. I have also done a good amount of character modelling which has helped me develop my sculpting skills and understand how to re-mesh high poly models. For my character project, I have also created hair cards suitable for games.

For my final projects I have used Substance Painter, Zbrush, Autodesk Maya, Blender, SpeedTree, Adobe Photoshop, Substance Sampler and Substance Designer.

Game Character

The image has a 3D modelled and textured action character with a bow and a sword. The character is wearing protective leather garments, blue shirt, colourful scarf around his waist and dark trousers.

Game character I designed, modelled and textured. The hair is made of hair cards.

Game Foliage

The image has 3D models of autumn foliage. At the centre there is a birch tree with yellow leaves. Around the tree is grass with white Daisy flowers. Next to the tree there are orange bushes. On the ground there are sticks, rocks and fallen leaves.

Game foliage I created using SpeedTree. All the branches, grass and flowers are made using opacity maps.

Alley

The image is of a 3D modelled and textured city alleyway. The street is crammed and dark, the buildings are worn down and have graffiti on the walls. There are overflowing bins and the ground is covered with scattered trash, cardboard and bottles.

An alley way I modelled and textured for a group film ''Origami''. Original concept idea by Lorena Welsing.
