"Stop Picking!" is a collection of three bold and unique rings aimed to be a positive reinforcement to skin picking.

About

Eve Stewart

“Stop Picking” is a collection of three rings designed to be a healthy and positive preventative to skin picking. The double finger rings have been designed to fit slightly dried orange segments within the ‘case’. The user will focus their need to pick their skin and instead pick away at the dried-out pith (orange whites) and skin of the fruit. Once the satisfaction of picking the initial segment has expired, simply dispose of the segment and replace it with another!

This body-focused repetitive behavior (BFRB) is listed under the category of obsessive compulsive and related disorders in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Health Disorder, 5th edition (DSM-5) and something that I have struggled with for many years. Therefore, the pieces are bold and unique to break the stigma of Dermatillomania and spread the word of this commonly unrecognised health condition.

"Stop Picking!" Project Video

This video showcases individuals who suffer with Dermatillomania in different environments and situations but still all experiencing the same sensation of picking and wearing the preventative jewellery.
