Katy Rigby

Over the past year, I have been developing my storytelling sensibilities as an outlet of self-expression. I aim to create work with style and humour that is unique and personal, communicated to the audience in unusual and imaginary ways to fit my style of storytelling. With storyboarding, I aim to create narratives, and go on to realise these through animation.

For my degree film ‘Tailslide’, I was the director, storyboard artist, character designer, animator, and compositor. The vibrancy of my film is massively reflective of the enthusiasm and talents of my team. My work at its core has always been an attempt to connect to people. Animation as a practice has taught me that connection is found not solely through the story you communicate, but also through the collaborative process of filmmaking.
