Kaylee Garland

I worked on the character design for the Mother and Child in Origami, as well as the animation. I love to create cute, fun, and silly ideas, using simplistic shapes and bright colours, mainly geared towards younger audiences. The personal projects I have taken on this year have helped me to improve my understanding of drawing and animation, especially in areas I have previously struggled with. One of my personal concept art projects, 'Play Pretend Star Buds' revolves around the story of a young boy stranded on an alien planet, where he meets a motherly alien willing to take him in. I love taking inspirations from real life, especially sea-life as I am intrigued by the bright array of colours and unique shapes which make up our ocean.
