About
Shifting lifestyles accentuated following the global pandemic, everyday living ought to be experienced contently, healthily, and lively. A lover of this evolving style, I have recognised sportswear is frequently repetitive, limited of fun, textural and spirited designs, which I propose to inject.
My research prospects the concept of connecting the mind and body through sports, establishing tranquillity. Two opposing collections evidently bloomed within my work.
‘Organic Stripes’, captures the relaxed and serene atmosphere originated post exercise. Focusing on beauty within the outdoors, natural recurring stripes embody the design and prompt a fresh colour palette. This collection envisions a fashion context of adding exaggerated layers to regulate the body’s temperature once cooled down.
Opposingly, ‘Energetic burst’, expresses the lively spirit and intense buzz experienced whilst partaking sports. Busting, exploding and scattered forms have driven this collection to create bold and graphic motifs, with a striking colour palette to accentuate pulsating and vibrant energy. I visualise this collection with an athletic look and interesting structure, to be worn in all stages of exercise.
Developing into final designs, quirky high-end collaborations such as Adidas and Stella McCartney flourished a series of textural fabrics, focusing on weight and movement. Using a mix of merino, mohair, cotton and elastic, gentle and comforting textiles are concluded. Comfort is Key.
