Mitigation of disaster profiteering in a re-imagined ethical economy of Kahramanmaraş, Türkiye through post-disaster architecture.

About

This work explores the relationship between lack of political and economical process transparency and its impact on society in a disaster prone area - Türkiye-Syia Earthquake 2023 specifically.
Economically weaker regions suffer more damages despite sesmic preparedness, which leaves the question of how well are these preparations executed?  It questions whether trust in government may be re-established in a post-disaster society through financial and preventative measures disclosed to public via process. Addressing the issue of displacement, the project rehabilitates a damaged area by proper seismic preparation and social spaces in place where living was built for density prior to the earthquake.
