I am captivated by the magical process of turning still images into movement. I find that animation is the perfect medium for artistic expression because it offers ultimate creativity and boundless opportunities that exceed reality. In working as an animator on B3, I enjoyed developing exaggerated expressions and poses for a terrified businessman meeting a monster. The monster allowed me to experiment with comedic horror timing and to challenge preconceptions about stereotypes. In the process I gained familiarity with a range of animation software such as TVPaint and Adobe Animate.

However, bringing still images to life is an incredibly intensive process, requiring teams of skilled animators, and even the best animators cannot produce great films without proper coordination. In my final year I had the opportunity to coordinate "B3" and co-coordinate "Hero's Spirit" both of which featured a combination of 2D and 3D animation. I found this a very rewarding process enabling two great teams of animators to bring these concepts to life. This role provided an insight into all areas of the production process from concept to completion. The highlight of the year was uploading the finished film and celebrating the successful completion of a wonderful animation with my team. Please check out B3 and Hero’s Spirit.
