Teaching and assessment for Finance and Investment MSc

This module will give you insight into the main issues in emerging market finance and investment literature. You will learn about the suitability of mainstream finance theory, the efficiency of an emerging stock markets and what to consider if investing. Previous and potential future market financial crises will be examined.

Students will develop their academic English while working with material from their core business modules.

It will develop your critical reasoning skills in financial derivatives & financial risk management. The module will equip you with the practical skills to apply financial derivatives to manage and hedge the financial market's volatility.

You will learn about the behaviour of investors in modern financial markets to allow you to expand upon your understanding of traditional financial concepts. You will also learn key theories such as asset pricing and market efficiency to help prepare you for a career in business.

Within this module you will learn about the operation of venture capital firms and the private equity industry.

This involves studying how venture capital firms operate and select business for investment, and how the investment process works.

The module aims to teach students about the context surrounding financial regulations, regulatory development and investment practices in the United Kingdom and worldwide.

The module will also give students a critical awareness of the ethical issues of financial and banking practice.
