This module is suitable for those who have studied accounting before and wish to further their understanding of contemporary issues in accounting in an international setting. 

Major trends in strategic management and management accounting are explained and evaluated in order to better understand management challenges.

A case study in the automotive industry will be used to exemplify how businesses adapt to their external environment by integrating the ‘three meshed gears’ of marketing, engineering, and finance.

You will use your knowledge and understanding of research and analytical skills, to study a topic relevant to your chosen programme of study e.g., international business, management, marketing, HR, economics, finance, accounting, Islamic finance. You will choose either a Pagoda internship, a consultancy project, or a literature-based search.

Students will develop their academic English while working with material from their core business modules.

This is an English support module for international business students.

You will learn about the content, value and limitations of external financial statement; their statutory and regulatory contexts as well as the requirement for related non-financial information. Plus the content and value of management accounting statements. This will allow you to take part in key organisational discussions.

This module will broaden your knowledge and understanding of how financial derivatives can manage risk. It will develop your critical reasoning skills in financial derivatives & financial risk management. The module will equip you with the practical skills to apply financial derivatives to manage and hedge the financial market's volatility.

You will learn how to interpret financial statements helping you to decide as to whether to buy, hold, or sell a particular firm’s stock. You will also learn how to set up an in-depth analysis of the firms strategic capabilities, financial and operating performance.

This module will increase your awareness of the global environment, how managers operate and manage the risks involved across business. You will learn how to make sound financing and investment decisions throughout your career.

This module will give you insight into the main issues in emerging market finance and investment literature. You will learn about the suitability of mainstream finance theory, the efficiency of an emerging stock markets and what to consider if investing. Previous and potential future market financial crises will be examined.

This module introduces students to a variety of statistical methods useful for decision-making. It gives students the quantitative skills to use data to make informed business decisions.

You will combine the theory of forecasting with practical experience of using software used by researchers, data analysts, and statisticians for conducting data-driven tasks and analyses. This will allow you to help find potential solutions to different kinds of business and financial problems.
