There are numerous ways to engage with University of Dundee Sport, as we aim to support staff, coaches, and students through various paid and volunteer positions.

Our Sport Scholar programme, along with over 46 clubs, provides a wide range of opportunities from recreational activities to competitive sports, all within a safe and welcoming environment. No matter your level of ability or experience, there's something for everyone.

Coaching Opportunities

Rugby Women’s

  • Salary: Voluntary
  • Squad Level: No specific team, coaching for Rugby Women’s as a whole
  • Training: Tuesday 18:00-19:30 and Friday 17:30-19:00. Wednesday availability is preferred but not essential for a British Universities & Colleges Sport (BUCS) game

Gaelic Football Men’s

  • Salary: Voluntary, however expenses covered for match travelling
  • Squad Level: Gaelic Men’s only
  • Training: Tuesday 19:30-21:30 and Thursday 19:30-21:30

Hockey Women’s

  • Salary: Paid (TBD)
  • Squad Level: 1XI who are currently competing in British Universities & Colleges Sport (BUCS) Scottish Tier 1, and Scottish Hockey's Championship and Regional leagues
  • Training: Tuesday 18:00-20:00 and Thursday 19:30-21:00. Also to attend Wednesday matches
  • Requirements: UKCC Level 1 Coaching Qualification (or working towards/similar) and previous experience is desirable

Basketball Women’s

  • Salary: Paid
  • Squad Level: 1XI
  • Training: 1-2 times per week with Tuesday night training a minimum plus Wednesday matches

Basketball Men’s

  • Salary: Paid
  • Squad Level: 1XI
  • Training: Tuesday 19:45-21:30

Volleyball Women’s

  • Salary: Paid
  • Squad Level: 1XI
  • Training: Training and game attendance (home games minimum

Volleyball Men’s

  • Salary: Paid
  • Squad Level: 1XI
  • Training: Wednesday 20:00-21:30 and game attendance (home games minimum

Netball

  • Salary: Dependant on qualification and experience
  • Squad Level: No specific team, coaching for Netball as a whole
  • Training: Thursday 19:30-21:30. Also desirable to attend all/majority of Saturday matches
  • Requirements: Must have Level 1 or 2 Netball Scotland qualification and experience and success in coaching competitive adult teams
