Shannon Kennedy

Animation BDes (Hons)

3D Character Artist & Rigger

About

Shannon Kennedy

Hello! My name is Shannon, and I am a storyteller at heart. While studying animation I have chosen to specialise in 3D character modelling and rigging, and worked on the student films "Origami" and "TV Dinner". I thoroughly enjoy the technical aspects and challenges of 3D modelling and rigging - these things pleasantly tickle the brain! It is incredibly satisfying to help craft a character and see them come to life. I am aiming to begin my career in a character modelling or rigging role.

I have a varied professional background, including web design, youth group management, and massage therapy. The latter has proven to be very useful when it comes to modelling and rigging, as it has granted me an understanding of anatomy and physiology.

Storytelling through characters, in any form, is at the core of my passion. I studied Comics and Graphic Novels as an elective module in 3rd year, and I plan to continue on to study MDes Comics and Graphic Novels at UoD.

I am open to work as a 3D character modeller or rigger. As I intend to study a Masters degree in Dundee, I am currently most interested in part-time roles or short-term projects, but would be open to consider other options. I would prefer a remote role, or a hybrid role based in Scotland.

Additionally, I am actively working on a couple of personal projects including a short 3D film and a graphic novel. These are currently in early development. If you are curious to see how these progress, you can follow my Instagram account or sign up for the newsletter on my website for updates.
