I mostly work digital from my messy sketchbook. The messy sketchbook gets my visual ideas down which then lets me produce good finals.

About

Holly Silcock

My work is colourful taking inspiration from nature around me, which has influenced many projects throughout the year. This shows in my work I did for the V&A project which looked at two different countries and their landscapes along with different animals from those countries. This was inspired by the tartan of a man from India who fostered cross cultural connections. For my personal project this year I wanted to bring a fun sequential theme to the project that show the activities through a sense of day from morning to night for a hotel stay. This brief was looking at digital advertising for a hotel through Instagram. The brief allowed me to discover the skills and kind of activities that suit me. I don’t have a set style and tend to adapt to whatever the brief is, allowing it to challenge me and experiment with new textures and colours.
