Profile photo of Jennifer Tait

I’m Jen, a Graphic Designer who is heavily inspired by colourful, exciting and inspiring designs. Throughout my work, I love creating design that has core meanings reflected through inspiring outcomes. Both ‘Memento Cider’ and ‘The Power of Sleep’ are two of my final honour's projects, both selected due to the inspiring briefs.

Memento Cider

Cans of colourful cider cans and boxes with people drinking them.

An approach to the brief set by London design agency Brand Opus, ‘make cider cool again’. Memento is a collectable cider range made for any occasion weather you are celebrating, socialising with friends and family, or just chilling out. Memento brings a unique experience to everyone with an unforgettable unboxing experience. Memento is available in three fruity refreshing flavours – Passion Fruit and Mango, Mixed Berry and Apple and Pear. Sustainability is at the heart of the brand. The packaging is fully recyclable and once opened, turns into a blank canvas to make your very own Memento memory box using the Memento sticker pack inside to decorate.

ISTD: The Power of Sleep

Spreads of the publication and the box that it is encased in.

'The Power of Sleep' is a response to the ISTD brief “Joybringer”. The publication explores the science, case studies, and fascinating facts about 'The Power of Sleep', also including a personal response to the brief where I tracked my sleep across the period of creating the publication, to see how stress and deadlines impacted my sleeping patterns. The publication hopes to inspire and educate the reader with the aim of gaining a deeper understanding of the impact that sleep can have on health and wellbeing. The publication consists of 8 chapters, each focusing on a different period of the 24-hour circadian cycle. The specific colour gradient used for the chapter dividers reflects the circadian cycle. Therefore, each chapter changes gradient to showcase the relevant time frame. This allows the reader to feel immersed in the specific period, experiencing the array of colours seen throughout the circadian cycle. The layout and overall execution has been designed to reflect the aesthetic of doctors’ medical files and documents. The binding is encased in a linen fabricated clamshell box creating a statement to highlight the importance of what is encased inside.
