About

Margaret Smith

Hello, I'm Margaret Smith, a Graphic Designer driven by a creative passion to evoke emotions through design. During my final year at DJCAD, I embarked on a journey of exploration and self-challenge, pushing the boundaries of my design capabilities.

I am deeply committed to expanding my design horizons in innovative ways, continually refining my design process to create conceptually rich, insight-driven designs.

Among the notable projects I undertook were the Hatch Live Brief and the International Society of Typographic Designers (ISTD).

For the Hatch Live Brief, I was inspired to rejuvenate the perception of cider, transforming it into a symbol of community and connection. By infusing diverse flavours and interactive elements into the packaging, I aimed to craft a new cider experience that fosters togetherness and shared moments.

In my ISTD project, I delved into the intricate challenges faced by individuals with dyslexia. Through a dual-book format, I sought to illuminate the unique perspective of dyslexic readers, juxtaposing their experience with conventional typographic norms. It was a poignant exploration of empathy and understanding.

These projects encapsulate my dedication to creating designs that not only captivate visually but also resonate emotionally, sparking meaningful connections with the audience.
