About

Patryk Dybalski

My degree work this year ranges from a cider brand, a social media campaign for Adobe and a festival identity for Dundee Design Festival.

My cider brand, Laurie & Rose is a response to the Brand Opus’ “Hatch'' brief. This project asks to explore the cider market and develop a brand that fills the gap between sweet mainstream cider and the traditional artisan producers. The branding is inspired by the mystery that took place on the Isle of Arran over 130 years ago, the consumer can directly engage with solving the mystery by scanning the cans with an AR filter to reveal a hidden parts of the story. When the drinker collects all the pieces of the story, they can define the fate of Laurie & Rose.

My second project is a campaign for the D&AD Adobe brief to promote their new Express platform. My solution involves a short film competition, the Adobe Time Frames Contest that is focused on entrants making a short film with the Adobe Express app. I made video promotion for the competition to be advertised on Instagram. The identity made for the short film festival is based around variable type to show multiple applications and adapting in order to reflect the nature of film making.

The identity for the Dundee Design Festival is a response to this year's competition set out by UNESCO Dundee to produce an identity for Scotland’s only design festival. The identity however cannot yet be shown online due to competition restrictions, but see my entry in person at the Degree Show.

The Laurie & Rose mystery extends past the branding, as the consumer can directly engage with solving the mystery. Each can features a different segment of the story told through newspaper clippings which can be scanned with an AR filter to reveal a hidden part of the image. When the drinker collects all the pieces of the story, they can define the fate of Laurie & Rose.

I made video promotion for the competition to be advertised on Instagram Reels in order to promote it to the target audience of young creatives that often promote their work on social media. These short adverts feature a short video followed by motion graphics to quickly and effectively promote the advantages of Adobe Express as well as entering the contest.

As part of a wider campaign to promote the Adobe Express platform I made a short film festival featuring a competition calling for films made with Adobe Express. This involved a full festival identity including a website and social media.
