This is a pathway of our International Business MSc course

Entrepreneurship is about the creation and growth of new business ventures. Innovation focuses on the creation and implementation of new ideas and improvements. Together, they form the backbone of economic development and progress.

They are about identifying opportunities, creating new ventures, and driving economic growth.

This involves understanding the process of starting and managing new businesses. It also consists of developing business plans and securing funding.

International Business involves understanding how businesses operate across borders.

This includes:

  • knowledge of global trade
  • international finance
  • cross-cultural management

This course will prepare you to lead new projects and businesses worldwide. It provides a mix of entrepreneurial skills with international business knowledge.

You will gain a comprehensive understanding of how to start and manage new ventures.

You will learn how to develop and present compelling business plans. You will also learn to master the skills needed to manage and grow startups.

You will also gain the knowledge to navigate complex global markets such as:

  • international trade policies
  • financial markets
  • strategies for entering and thriving in international markets

This includes developing a deep understanding of cross-cultural management and global strategic planning.

This course blends theoretical knowledge with practical skills. This ensures that you are well-prepared for the global business landscape.

It is structured around self-contained modules. Each module is focused on different critical aspects of international business, entrepreneurship, and innovation.

You will learn both core and advanced concepts of entrepreneurship and international business.

This includes:

  • understanding how to develop new business ideas
  • create business plans
  • secure funding
  • manage startups

This also includes fostering innovation within existing organizations.

You will also learn about developing strategies for market entry and competitive positioning in international markets, understanding the impact of foreign direct investment, and learning about the economic factors that influence global trade.

You will also engage in a summer project module. This can include:

  • gaining international work experience through an internship abroad
  • working on real business problems with companies through a consultancy project
  • conducting detailed research on a specific topic of interest through an extended essay

Global internships

As part of this degree, you will have the opportunity to do an eight-week internship matched to your chosen industry in China, Vietnam, or Manchester (UK)
