Teaching

The course is taught through lectures, seminars, and workshops. 

This course takes place over four levels, each based on a different theme:

  • Level 1 - understanding places and change
  • Level 2 - managing place and change 
  • Level 3 - implementation and application
  • Level 4 - critical thinking and professionalism

Assessment

Assessments vary in type and weighting from module to module. 

Methods of assessment include:

  • essays
  • written individual and group reports
  • sketch book
  • individual and team oral presentations
  • written exams

In Level 4 you will apply the skills and knowledge you have learned in a dissertation.

You will develop an understanding of the modern issues faced by built environment professionals at a local, regional and global scale. Through a guest lecture series you will have contact with professionals in practice and explore their roles and responsibilities.
